From Latakia With Love - Viva Palestina Land Convoy 5

Salam my dearest family and friends,

It has been quite a few days since I last posted.

So much going on, with very little time in between.

But I thought, I should just update everyone with whatever I can right now.

I am well and healthy, so no worries, ok...

Very happy to be surrounded with amazing people who eat, drink and sleep Palestine! Lol!

If the Egyptian and her conspirators think that they will break us by delaying this convoy, they are in for a big big surprise. Actually, what they are doing is making us more and more and more closer to one another, and more and more and more determine to help the Palestinians...

If the Palestinians can stand this for 60++ years, we sure can stand whatever thrown to us too, inshaAllah.

And it rained cats and dogs yesterday night. Although suddenly it became so freezing sejuk, I feel like it is blessings from Allah pouring on us.

Just that we had to work really hard to save all aid from soaking. Maybe Allah's way to make us exercise a bit more...hehe....

But dont worry, everything is saved, alhamdulillah!

And thanks to Dr Musa, he took two pictures of what he called my bungalow and sent them to my VPM friends. And Zabrina decided to post them although I feel shy about it...

Also, I have to say that since my bungaow is sooooo exclusive, I only accept one visitor at a time...

Now in Syria after 20 hours Driving - Viva Palestina Convoy 5

Salam and hi my dearest family and friends,

Today morning, I was awaken by the ringing of my phone.

As it was dark, I could not locate my phone fast enough, and the ringing stopped.

Squinting my eyes, I tried looking at the phone screen and saw Zabrina's number.

'Salam Zab, did you call? Sorry, I missed it. It is 5.50am over here....' was my text to her.

'Oppss... sorry Azura, I just haven't heard from you or Azra for sometime; and I got worried...cannot sleep...'

I don't blame you Zab, for worrying.

I have been traveling aka driving for the last 20+++ hours, from Adana, Turki to Latakia, Syria!

And as the phone signal was very unstable. None of my messages got thru to Zab.

But, nevertheless, still amazing, right?

Our convoy's journey started at about 9.00am and lasted that long.... just look at the map below (which I again ciplak from Aqsa Syarif's FB. Sorry guys, too tired to find my own map!)

Point A = Adana, Turkey; Point B = Latakia, Syria

To all my family members and friends, I find it a bit challenging to update my fb, twitter, blog in Syria; and even to sent text messages and mms to you Zab.

So, bear with me for a moment until I can figure things out...

Also, just so you know, the news about Malaysians killed etc etc etc are all big fat rumours! Don't believe them... anything you need to know, call Zabrina ok?

And right now, we are at the camp in Syria... all busy preparing for the arrival of hundreds of other activists joining us just before we board the ship to Gaza.

Did I just say Gaza??

Gaza!!

Haiyo.... by just mentioning the name Gaza makes me feel so excited....heart pumping so fast....

I really cannot wait to set foot on the land where just 2 years ago, I watched in horror and tears seeing the white phosphorus used to kill and murder innocent people...

Wait my dearest Gazans, we are all here coming for you!!

Istanbul First Now Ankara, Turkey.... Viva Palestina 5 Convoy

Salam and hi my dearest family and friends,

I am now in Ankara, Turkey.

And I can 'smell' Gaza from here.... so excited....

Since the day we entered Turkey, first in Istanbul and now Ankara, the feelings I have cannot be described.

It is amazing, fantastic and bombastic to say the least...

I met so many humanitarian activists especially from IHH, including the ones who were on Mavi Marmara- the ship that got attacked, hijacked and kidnapped by the infamous zero-feeling and zero-heart Zionist regime.

I even get to meet one of the ladies on Mavi Marmara. Her name is Meral... I was so inspired by her....

Although there are times when we all are like cute and pretty (coz IHH got us nice homes to sleep and bathe) ducks and chicken talking, using sign languages and all- that didn't stop us from yakkity yakkity yak!

Somehow, we managed to make sense what the storyline was about... Haha...

Once we were driving on the road,  we used the word 'Gaza' and 'Mavi Marmara' to a lady who was by the roadside, and suddenly she starting crying!

Ayoyo... I felt so guilty.... and sad....

Then, there were many speeches too.

During one of the speeches, George Galloway, founder of Viva Palestina, mentioned that we soon will be traveling using the same sea route Mavi Marmara used and when we reached the exact spot of the attack, we will throw flowers etc as a gesture of remembrance of the innocent and kindhearted humanitarian activists who were murdered there.

I quickly text-ed Zabrina to tell her about this exciting news and that my will is on the way.

She said one more time such talk, she will fly here and personally throw me off the ferry.

Lol! Relax Zab.... just pulling your leg...

But then, I also said to her, she might as well do that, coz at the frequency of our texting, she could have bought a flight ticket to Gaza!

She said, maybe la...but only in cargo section!

Zab, Zab.... cargo or not, next time, I will drag you, Azian and Jem if I have to and come with me to Gaza!

A Sight I Shall Remember Always in Viva Palestina 5 Convoy

Salaam and hi all,

Saw this from far, and it touches my heart.... what a beautiful sight....

But then, felt it was too far... so I came closer,.... and closer, .... and even closer....

Now, that's better.... feeling all warmy inside...

Remembered that we are being created for one reason only- to worship Him...
