Palestinians Rights to Return - Viva Palestina Convoy 5

Salam and hi everyone,

Yesterday, the feeling in our camp was amazing. Everyone was all pumped up and roaring to go.

Myself included...

I feel like I have just woken up from a bad dream... and now I am in a La-La land where all are nice and sweet.

Sometimes I had to pinch myself- Is it real that I am going to set foot in Gaza in a few days time, inshaAllah? Betul ke nie?

If this is also a dream, no one wake me up, ok... I will probably punch you... haha...

The thought of entering Gaza, Palestine is the reason why at times I senyum-senyum sorang2... couldn't help smiling la.... Being in Gaza is one of my sweetest dreams....

Then during our morning meeting where Kevin explained the latest happenings and give us the updates, he showed us a plastic bag.

What is so special about this plastic bag?

The person who gave Kevin this bag was an old, old man. And a poor one too, with nothing much to spare.

But the moment he found out that we are preparing to go to Gaza, he bought some groceries with the little Syrian pounds he had, put them in the plastic bag and gave it to one of our volunteers....

'Please take it...', I can imagine him saying it...

Huyooo.... emosi sekejap.... like Dr Musa say... we all became very smonel (emotional) for a moment....

Zab, if you are here, I dont know what will happen.... probably cry and insist on looking for this Atuk....

Then I remembered something...

We are all leaving for Gaza to meet and deliver humanitarian aid for the oppressed Palestinians; but at the same time we are leaving these beautiful Palestinians in Syria who have been kicked out of their own land and now live as refugees!

Syria alone has embraced 600,000 Palestinian refugees since the heartless Zionist Regime of Israel invade and illegally occupy Palestine.

To my family and friends, Zabrina has collected some pictures taken at the Palestinian Refugee Camp in Latticka, Syria by other activists in this convoy.

While we are helping the Palestinians in Gaza Break the Siege, let us never forget the Palestinians who has lost their homes and thrown out of their own land.

Let us help them to get their Rights to Return to Palestine, coz that's where they came from and that's where they really belong....

Green Light is On! Green Light is On! - Viva Palestina 5 Land Convoy

Salam and hi my dearest family and friends,

I can barely control myself right now!!!

Today, after close to about 10 long, testing, dragging days- Viva Palestina Convoy 5 volunteers received the news we have been waiting for all this while.

Tweets and text messages were flying out the window carrying this great news from all over.

And the news is this....

At 6.57pm Syrian time, Kevin, our Chief of VP called the Egyptian Embassy in Damascus and received confirmation from Dr Mohd Fayyumi that Viva Palestina Convoy 5 has received FULL permission to sail from Latakia to El Arish Port using any number of ships!

My heart skipped a beat upon hearing this news.

Breathe Azura... breathe....

Ya Allah...  Zabrina!!!! Did you hear that??

WE are going to Gaza, babe!!

WE are actually going to Gaza!!

WE, as in you and me; and the whole supporters and donors of Viva Palestina 5 Land Convoy!!

Egypt has finally turned her stop-red light to a go-ahead bright flashing green!

And I think a thank you is in order, so, thank you Egypt....

We will start sailing on Friday inshaAllah. Right now, Viva Palestina is arranging the ship to come from Cyprus to Latakia to pick us up and bring us to El Arish, Egypt.

Eh, sounds like macam naik cab pulak... haha...

And Zab, you cannot imagine how crazy the atmosphere over here right now.

Just in a split second, the celebration began. Almost all the flags that are not tied up are waving and music can be heard from miles away.

Everyone is jumping, hopping, hugging, dancing, singing and of course, crying.

And if you, Jem and Azian are here- I think what 4 of us would do is only one thing -- crying!!!

Oh, wait, on second thought, I think you and Jem would be jumping and hopping too- just like little cute bunnies! Lol!!

Me and Azian are way too cool to jump or hop around...hehe...

As I chocked trying to collect my thoughts and calm my heart, I whispered to my Lord, the Greatest Planner of all.

Ya Allah, I humbled myself in front of You, and I thank You, full of gratitude for making this day come true for us all...

Overwhelmingly happy,
Azura from Latakia.

(posted for Azura by Sis Zabrina who wishes she is actually crying joyously while jumping and hopping next to Azura even if she looks like a little bunny!)

p/s Dr Musa, sorry I hijacked your pictures for my blog. Biasa la, kan.... cannot sent mms anymore to Zab.... must be Ms Zi punya kerja....

Happy Volunteers

Viva Palestina Malaysia In Action! - Viva Palestina Convoy

Salam dear all,

Yesterday, in her sms messages, Zabrina told me of the high level of activities Viva Palestina Malaysia had these past two days, meeting the officials to facilitate the speedy entrance of the convoy into Gaza.

On Monday, at about 10.30 am VPM activists has made their way to the Egyptian Embassy in Malaysia to send in their appeal letter for an immediate departure date of Viva Palestina 5 Land Convoy to Gaza.

Then, later in the evening, they went to an interview in TV3 to make public their appeal to the Egyptian Government to let the Viva Palestina Convoy 5 sail to El Arish Port in Egypt.

And the very next day, Sis Jamilah & Sis Elya met the Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk
Anifah Aman at Parliament,  Deputy Minister & senior Ministry officials.  The Minister was presented with the press release & letters sent to the Egyptian embassy. It was explained that the Egyptian embassy had cited two reasons why Cairo has yet to give the go-ahead for the convoy to move on ie security concerns in Rafah and the size of the convoy. Datuk Anifah promised to take the issue up with his counterpart in Egypt and to try reach a compromise in that the convoy be allowed to set sail immediately from Lattakia to El-Arish and wait at El-Arish for further instructions. They also met Datuk Mahfuz Omar, Deputy President PAS/MP for Pokok Sena who appeared concerned about the fact that the convoy is stuck at Lattakia & said he would bring it up in Parliament.

Thank you all my friends in Malaysia. Let us hope that our efforts are fruitful, ameen!!

What Are The Humanitarian Aid Loaded Into Our Vehicles? Viva Palestina Convoy 5

Salam dearest family and friends,

How are you guys back home? Doing well?

It has been 8 days now in Latakia, Syria. Egypt still has not given us the date to sail to El Arish Port.

And during the first few days of this 8-days stretch,  Zabrina complained to me ...

Wak, why la your sms so far apart and few?... response pun so slow?....

Haiyo, Zab.... I forgot to tell you... I was so busy doing my bit to administer the loading of the humanitarian aid into the vehicles...

So sorry....

And then she got curious and asked what are the things that were loaded into the vehicles.

And like Zab, many others were curious, wanting to know what are the items loaded into our 143 vehicles!

I would too, if I am them.

Especially, if I have contributed in some way to this Land Convoy, right? .... must know where and how my precious ringgits were spend!

So, for my curious Zab, friends and donors to VP Convoy out there, let me briefly explain the content of all Viva Palestina 5 Global Lifeline to Gaza vehicles.

It is simple, really....

Generally, the items or aids we are sending into Gaza are in form of medicines, medical equipment, surgical equipment, school supplies and educational equipment.

Some of the details are below:

- Medicines includes tablets, syrups and injectables.
- Dressings mainly disposables for operations and wounds.
- Special stoma bags for colostomies (gut brought to skin surface and draining faeces)

We also have various medical equipment including urinary catheters, feeding tubes, chest tubes and artificial airways.

There are resuscitation equipments for examples ambu bag and oxygen pipes.

Some surgical appliances we have are  surgical scissors and surgical sets

There is also a machine for rapid tests for usage in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

For babies of Gaza, we have some infant ventilators and specialised baby milk formulas.

Last but not the least, for the eager-to-learn and brilliant school children in the Gaza, among the things we have for them are stationaries, notebooks, school bags, papers, minimal clothing, some computers, some shoes, some educational equipment and of course, books.

And yes, Zab, I was chewing my gums while on duty loading these things! Somehow it helps me think... Lol!

And for all out there, enjoy the pictures below showing the humanitarian aid to Gaza made possible from all your donations and contribution to the Viva Palestina Land Convoy 5.

Till then,
Azura...

(posted by Sis Zabrina who is totally flabbergasted by Azura's medical knowledge for Azura who is still stuck in Latakia!)
